ABSTRACT
This work examines some morphological features of the Ondo dialect as pertaining to Yoruba language, and how the features affect the coming together of words, word formation, and the influences that they have on sentence constructions as a whole; how they affect meaning, and doing this all in relation to linguistic awareness and ability. The objective of this research work is to examine how the Ondo dialect form words in relation to the Yoruba language and for better examinations, words from both the Yoruba language and the Ondo dialect were used as data to give a better work and it was discovered that the Ondo dialect makes use of affixation to shed more light on meaning. This work increases our understanding of how certain words and sentences compound together to be meaningful.
