ABSTRACT
This study defines and juxtaposes reason and morality—putting man at the center of the discourse, due to the higher reasoning faculty he wields over other creatures. It shall also answer the question: Does reason have any influence or part to play in morality? Or simply—is reason necessarily required for man to be moral? If yes, should reason be the spine of morality? But if no, what then? This work is based on reason and morality in Thomas Aquinas’ philosophy. We shall also consider the role of reason and morality in other aspects of man’s behavior and how it affects the society of today.
