ABSTRACT
The research is the modelling of compressive strength of lightweight sandcrete blocks which will lead to the reduction of dead loads without compromising structural integrity using Pulverised Palm Kernel Shell (PPKS) as a partial substitute for River Sand. Hollow samples of blocks were produced with mix ratio of 1:6 cement-aggregate at 0.45 watercement ratio. The blocks measuring 450mm x 225mm x 225mm in dimensions conformed to EN 771-3:2011standard. The fine aggregate was partially replaced with 0, 1, 5, 10, 15, and 20% of Pulverized Palm Kernel Shell (PPKS). Multiple Regression Method was used in the analysis of the Model used for the prediction of compressive of sandcrete blocks. The mix design ratio for the sandcrete block mix is based on the percentage relationship of the densities of constituent materials. The curing of sandcrete blocks were done by spraying of water on daily basis.
