ABSTRACT

The study examined the impact of mobile money operations (MMOs) on entrepreneurship in Nigeria. The study investigated how various proponents of mobile money operations impact entrepreneurial performance in the Nigerian space, focusing more on Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). The study employed the use of primary data sourced from distributed questionnaires to selected respondents in Benin, Edo state. The study hypotheses were analyzed using simple regression analysis via the Ordinary Least Square (OLS) regression techniques. The study reveals that entrepreneurial access to financial resources (AFR), innovative financial products and services (IA), and marketing and outreach programs (MOP) significantly enhance entrepreneurship in Nigeria. The regression analysis shows that these factors positively correlate with entrepreneurial success, with AFR having the strongest impact, followed by IA and MOP. The high R-squared value indicates that these variables explain a substantial portion of the variance in entrepreneurship, underscoring their critical role in fostering entrepreneurial activities. The findings highlight the importance of providing adequate financial resources, promoting financial innovation, and implementing effective marketing strategies to support and boost entrepreneurship in Nigeria.
