MATLAB: AN OVERVIEW AND APPLICATION TO SIMULATION OF SIMPLE RANDOM EXPERIMENTS

ABSTRACT

This study we discussed the History of MATLAB, Importance of Simulation in experimental research with the use of MATLAB, some simulation Techniques in MATLAB, recent/future development in MATLAB, Emphasis on the Application to Simulation of simple Random Experiments. The concept of random variables, random experiments and mathematical expectation were examined as basis for the simulation of simple random experiments which is the main focus of this study. The methods reviewed in the literature give rise to our methodology which we translated into coding some simple random experiments such as flip of a fair coin and toss of a fair die using MATLAB. The results conformed with the expectations in theory, showing that our random experiments were properly Simulated.
