ABSTRACT

This study sought to determine the effect of marketing of church service on attraction of new members. The study focused on selected churches, distributing three hundred and sixty (360) questionnaires to their members, and subsequently subjecting the responses retrieved to statistical analysis. The study utilised descriptive statistics and inferential statistics (regression) analytical techniques to analyse the retrieved data. It was found that: evangelism strategies affect the attraction of new members to Pentecostal churches; welfare programs affect the growth of new church membership; personal visits influence the attraction of new members to Pentecostal churches; and advertising does not affect the growth of new church membership. Based on these findings, it was recommended that: it is important for Pentecostal churches to invest in and enhance their evangelism efforts; to leverage welfare program’s impact, churches should prioritize and expand their welfare initiatives, such as support for the needy, community outreach, and social services; it is essential for churches to encourage members to engage in personal outreach and relationships with potential new members; and it is still important to assess and potentially refine the church's advertising methods.
