The aim of the study is to investigate Parkia biglobosa ethanol leaf extract's ability to heal wounds in albino rats. In this experiment, twenty-four female albino rats were randomized into four groups (1-4) of six rats each. They were given food and water ad libitum for a period of one week. Group 1 served as the normal control which received water without treatment, group 2 received a known standard drug (cicatrin powder), twelve rats were administered with two different doses of Parkia biglobosa extract (10% and 20% per body weight), and designated as Group 3 and Group 4. Blood sample was collected from the albino rat and kept in lithium heparin anticoagulant sample bottles. Blood serum after centrifugation was analyzed for superoxide dismutase (SOD) and malondialdehyde (MDA). The SOD result showed that the mean values increased from 15.43±3.22 (U/mg protein) to 20.48±4.05 (U/g tissue) in the control group (Group 1) and the group that received the standard drug (Group 2) respectively. Group 3 was the most effective on days 7 and 21. MDA mean value ranges from 1.52±0.67 (µmol/L) on day 21 to 2.53±0.80 (µmol/L) on the 7th day. Group 4 had the highest rate of wound healing on days 7 and 14. It was observed that both the 10% and 20% extracts of Parkia biglobosa had better effect in healing wounds. The extracts anti-inflammatory activity explains the wound healing ability. In conclusion, it was observed that the increase in the percentage of Parkia biglobosa extract would increase the rate of healing of the wound.
