ABSTRACT
The subject matter of this essay focuses on using love as the basis for moral judgment in Joseph Fletcher. Joseph Fletcher developed an ethical system known as situation ethics which serves as a middle ground between legalism and antinominalism. This theory focuses on love for the neighbour. Fletcher proposed several principles that one should follow in the process of decision making. This theory made it simple for individuals to solve ethical issues that are by nature very complex. Amongst the principles propounded by Fletcher, we have love is always good, love and justice are identical, love decides where and when e.t.c. this paper therefore seeks to show how possible it is to use love as the basis for moral judgment using expository method.
