ABSTRACT
The effect of Glycosaminoglycan on Lipid profile, such as Cholesterol (CH); Triglyceride (TG), high density lipoprotein (HDL) and low density lipoprotein (LDL) is the focus of this review. Spectrophotometric analysis of the various lipoprotein lipases showed increase in lipid lipoprotein in plasma and liver (556.15% and 617.20%) respectively, whereas decrease levels were reported for heart, epididymal adipose and perirenal adipose (86.89%, 55.18% and 35.01%) respectively. Increased liberation of tissue lipoproteins could explain the use of heparin as a first line of drug for cardiovascular occlusion management whereas the reduction, support the choice of heparin in high density lipoprotein increase management in patient at risk of heart failure.
