ABSTRACT
This research topic proposes that the Ẹdo language is slowly attriting amongst Ẹdo youths. What makes this research topic a very intriguing one is that, to those who it concerns, they are often time ignorant of this fact but in truth, they are attriting. A few discourse samples were taken which reflects the effect of language contact as a theory of interference and instances of borrowing and code mixing were most predominant.
The methodology applied in this research study is a descriptive one and data was collected through the use of questionnaires which were analyzed using statistical computation and frequency of occurrence of different responses given by respondents. The work concluded by looking at some of the opinions given by respondents as to what could be done to restore the Ẹdo language among her youths.
