ABSTRACT
The aim of this project is to know the attitudes of the university of Benin undergraduates toward Mother Tongues in their education. The method used in collecting data in this research work is carryout through the use of questionnaire total of 100 questionnaires were distributed among the student of faculty social science and the faculty Art. Mentalist theory were adopted in analyzing the data, in the cause of this work, it was fine out that student still use mother tongue in school because they believe it is the language of birth and every other language that is been used is borrowed and also believe that local language is a vital language that everybody can communicate with it. The language attitude among university of Benin under graduate tends to harmonize, and even emanates a better and a more profound remedy to every form of language attitudinal barriers, in various segmental field in an educational institution.
