Summary

This is the first study of its sort to look into undergraduate theater arts students at the University of Benin in the state of Edo's KA (knowledge and awareness) about the COVID-19 outbreak and its prevention measures. According to our research, undergraduate students are knowledgeable about COVID-19 and have a favorable attitude regarding it. Understanding the disease is seen as the first stage in implementing any health education effort. Students are more likely to become aware of the spread of communicable diseases and of the preventive actions to decrease transmission if they are aware of the origins and sources of transmission of a disease. According to the study's findings, primary education pupils and students with lower levels of education should receive more attention. Observations could aid policymakers in determining the target populations.for health education and COVID-19 prevention.

Despite their flaws, social media and the internet greatly helped people gain the knowledge they needed to stop the spread of Covid-19. The government's efforts to stop COVID-19, especially with Chinese doctors involved, were not particularly successful. Increased efforts should be made to determine the KA of the disadvantaged and vulnerable population as well as to spread health information among these groups through indigenous languages.
