ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study is to investigate the knowledge and attitude towards waste disposal among Ekosodin residents. The descriptive survey research was used for the study. The total population of the study is Seven thousand (7000) with a sample size of Two hundred and ten (210). The instrument for data collection was a well structure questionnaire which was validated by the project supervisor and two others lecturers from the department of Health, Safety and Environmental Education. The reliability of the instrument was established using the test re-test method and a reliability coefficient of 0.71 was gotten. The collected data was analysed using descriptive tools such as frequency, count, percentage, mean and standard deviation. Findings from this study revealed that Ekosodin residents are knowledgeable of waste disposal, Ekosodin residents have positive attitude towards and Ekosodin residents have positive ways on how to dispose their waste. It is thus recommended that program on waste disposal should be organized to educate the general public, waste segregation at source and enhanced waste collection services, organization should be built for the proper monitoring of waste.
