The data presented in this document express the origin and the-treatise of the history of the Issele-Uku people in the context of the migration story of an Edo speaking group dating back to 1230 AD. It gives an insight into the values and linkages that have been preserved to the present as cultural attributes. It further introduces us to the cultural foundations that are constantly re-enacted as rituals and festival and invariably translated through oral tradition to art in contemporary contexts. Finally, while this research theme is dynamic and by no means conclusive, it remains a documentation of the history of a people by an insider with refreshing updates that add to the continuing knowledge and development of Issele-Oligbo and Issele-Uku.
