The evaluation of microorganisms present in indoors have become necessary, as how safe the air in our surrounding environment where we spent time is fundamental to our wellbeing. Hence, this study was aimed at assessing the indoor air quality of Hall 4 hostel common room in University of Benin. Samples were collected using the settle plate methods, colony counting was done and converted to cfu/m3. Cultural, morphological and certain biochemical tests were done which include; indole, oxidase, catalase, citrate, urease as well as Gram staining. Antibiotics sensitivity test was also taken to see which organisms are susceptible or resistant. From the result obtained, the highest bacteria count was from the back of the common room with a count of 1.7×10² cfu/m3. Generally, the bacteria load was not very high and could be because many students were not present as at the time of the sample collection.
