ABSTRACT
The study, is more or less like a question, and at the same time an answer. Is Orhua a dialect of Edo, or of Esan? The only way was to collect data, from the closest Edo village which is Ehor, and the closest Esan village to Orhua, which is Iruekpen and compared the data using the Ibadan 400 word list. Oral interview was also carried out to know the percentage of cognates that exist between these dialects. And also their cultural similarity was also compared. The findings revealed that Orhua is, more closely related to Esan, and not Edo.
