ABSTRACT
This study investigated the writing habits among undergraduates’ students in the University of Benin, Benin City. To achieve the purpose of the study, three research questions and three hypotheses were tested for the study. The research design adopted for this study is the descriptive survey research design. The sample size for the study was made up of one hundred and eighty six (186) respondents. The instrument used for the data collection was x a structured questionnaire titled “Writing Habits among Undergraduates Questionnaire (WHAUQ)”. The data were analyzed using frequency counts, simple percentage (%), ANOVA and T-test. The findings from the study include that WhatsApp, search engine, Instagram, LinkedIn, Telegram, Facebook, Twitter, pen and paper all constitute some of the media undergraduates use when engaging in writing in the University of Benin. It was concluded that there is a high level of writing habit among undergraduates’ students in the University of Benin. The study among others recommended that school management should encourage writing habit among students through award and recognition of students with best writing.
