This research explores the intricate relationship between Intellectual Property legislation and the growth trajectory of Small and Medium Enterprises within the Nigerian context. It endeavours to assess the efficacy of existing Intellectual Property laws in nurturing the development and advancement of Small and Medium Enterprises and aims to identify barriers hindering Small and Medium Enterprises' optimal growth despite Intellectual Property laws, probing into challenges specific to the Nigerian business landscape. Employing a comprehensive approach, the study evaluates the role played by Intellectual Property rights—such as patents, trademarks, and industrial designs—in empowering Small and Medium Enterprises as catalysts for economic expansion, wealth creation, and employment generation. Additionally, it scrutinizes the intersection of environmental factors, governmental stability, and policy frameworks to comprehend their influence on Small and Medium Enterprise performance vis-à-vis Intellectual Property regulations. The findings seek to illuminate opportunities and propose actionable recommendations for policymakers, stakeholders, and Small and Medium Enterprises to leverage intellectual property legislation effectively in bolstering sustainable growth and fostering a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem in Nigeria.
