ABSTRACT

This study looked at how Viscum album (mistletoe) affected lead-acetate-induced renal damage in adult Wistar rats. At the conclusion of the experiment, statistics showed that the Wistar rats' body weights had increased, indicating that the toxicant (Lead-acetate) and the extract from Viscum album had no effect on the rats' ability to gain weight.

When comparing the high dose group to the control group, there was an increase in renal weight, but there was no rise in renal weight in the lead (Pb) only group. This suggests that the high dosage group had nephrotic syndrome. However, Innih Sylvannus Olu et al. stated in 2022 that cadmium increased body weight exclusively in the toxicant and intermediate groups.
