ABSTRACT
In modeling and real life problems, uncertainty and vagueness cannot be avoided when making assumptions. And vagueness can not be accounted for using the crisp set theory, although the Fuzzy set theory has solved some of these problems, but it also has its limitations. The Intuitionistic Fuzzy set theory proposed by Krassimir Atanassov, provides us with ways to deal with the limitations of Fuzzy Set and it has systems in place to deal with problems involving boundary precision. This theory has been adapted and incorporated into various fields due to its wide importance and it has helped to model many real-life problems dealing with imprecision. This study is set to explain in detail the Intuitionistic fuzzy set theory, how optimal it is and its benefit in real world situations.
