ABSTRACT
This study describes a set of quantitative methods, smooth curves, functional data analysis which can answer a lot of questions that traditional statistical approaches cannot. The primary advantage of functional data analysis is that it allows reearchers to ask questions about when in times series difference may exist between two or more set of observations. Functional data analysis is the analysis of information of a given problem in a function, where data is a sample from a function. It is also referred to the statistical analysis of data samples consisting of random functions. Functional data analysis also refer to a collection of method for analysing data over a curve. The mean, median, mode and varience are some forms of functional data analysis that help to determine the properties of the function which could be discrete data functional, samples of functional data.
