INTER GROUP RELATIONS BETWEEN EWATTO AND HER IMMEDIATE NEIGHBORS

ABSTRACT

This chapter ties up the major points in this research work. This work has demonstrated how the inter-group relation between the Ewatto and their neighbours affected their socio-cultural, economic and political interaction. Chapter one of the study surveyed the background of the study, stating the relevance of this study, with its aim and objectives, justification of this research, the methodology used in carrying out this research, the scope of the research and various literature reviewed in relation to this study. Chapter two provides a detailed historical background of the origin of Ewatto. It shows the distinct origin of the people even before the 15th century. It also examines a brief history of their socio-cultural, economic and political institutions. Chapter three elucidates on the political relations between the Ewatto and her neighbours, the role politics has to play in Ewatto-Ubiaja friendship.
