The history of all hinter land communities (Delta province) have similar problem. This is the problem of lack of written information. Information about the Urhobo and Isoko people depended more on oral source. The Urhobo communities are even better than that of the Isoko communities in terms of written information. The inadequacy on getting written information has been a major problem in putting together the history of the Urhobo and Isoko people in particular, likewise in the reflection of the relationship that existed between them. This has consistently led to assumption on issues relation to traditions of origin, migration and settlement.
