ABSTRACT

Preterm birth is described as a typical uterine contraction that takes place in a woman before 37 full weeks of pregnancy, along with progressive cervical dilation. This is the main factor in neonatal morbidity and mortality. This study was conducted to look into the possible therapeutic use of some plant components in the treatment of premature births. Using various web servers and software, Insilco research was conducted to identify the binding affinity, ligand-receptor interaction, and adsorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion (ADME) properties of several plant elements. The components of each plant showed different degrees of affinity for the oxytocin receptor.Oleanolic acid with PubChem CID 10494 demonstrated the highest binding affinity and good ADME characteristics among the constituents of C. olitorius and P. staudtii. Among the constituents of H. indicum, beta-amyrin with PubChem CID 72145 demonstrated the highest binding affinity and good predicted ADME characteristics. Gamma-sitosterol (PubChem CID 457801) demonstrated the highest binding affinity and favorable ADME characteristics for the constituents of N. latifolia. Other constituents of these plants also interacted with the binding site amino acids of the oxytocin receptor(6TPK) with high binding affinities and good predicted ADME characteristics. Following lead optimization and experimental research, these various plants constituents may be further explored as potential novel drug candidates for the treatment of premature births.
