ABSTRACT
This project delves into the innovativeness of architectural design within the realm of residential buildings in Edo State, Nigeria, with a specific focus on the formative aspects of these structures. In a rapidly evolving urban landscape, the architectural language of residential spaces plays a pivotal role in shaping the cultural, social, and aesthetic fabric of communities. This research seeks to identify and analyze the innovative trends, strategies, and paradigms that architects employ to redefine the form and function of residential buildings in Edo State. The study employs a multi-faceted research methodology, incorporating architectural analysis, case studies, and stakeholder interviews to comprehensively explore the innovative dimensions of residential design. By examining a diverse range of architectural projects, both contemporary and traditional, the research aims to uncover patterns, influences, and unique approaches that characterize the evolving architectural landscape of Edo State. Furthermore, the project considers the socio-cultural implications of innovative residential design, investigating how these architectural interventions contribute to community identity, sustainability, and livability.
