SUMMARY
This study was aimed at finding the impact of information technology on supply chain management in food and beverages companies in Nigeria. Ten benefits of e-business, seven benefits of the e-market, eleven benefits of e-procurement and twelve benefits of e-supply chain management to an organisation which impact on the supply chain management of the organisation was investigated, the result revealed that among the ten benefits of e-business enhance organisational corporate image, reduce business processes cost, design and development of e-business help to achieve a business objective, increase company profitability, improve business process and improve the relationship with trading partners were found to be the most important factors that impact on supply chain management in food and beverages companies in Nigeria. The result further revealed that among seven factors of e-marketplace investigated that organisation find e-market useful, placing an order on suppliers websites, use of e-market for announcing purchasing, save organisation’s time and effort over other means of performing same tasks were found to be the most important in the group that impact on supply chain management in food and beverages companies in Nigeria. The result also revealed that improved efficiency, reduced administration cost, improved effectiveness, reduced operational and inventory cost, price reduction, improved visibility of supply chain management, when e-procurement application has used no stock out is experienced were found to be the most important in the group that impact on the supply chain management of the organisation. However, among twelve benefits of e-supply chain management faster time to market, improving consumers information, improving internal and external communication, improved logistic management, increase customers satisfaction, the reduced time between billing and payment, improved profitability, improved order accuracy were found to be the most important in the group. However, the objective of this research was achieved.
