ABSTRACT

This study examined the impact of Information Communication Technology (ICT) on The Performance of Nigerian Bank The study's analysis covered the Automated Teller Machine, Point of Sales, Electronic Fund Transfers, Mobile Banking and Internet Banking Services as ICT target variables and bank performance as the dependent variable. The study employed primary sources of data through the administration of three hundred and eightyfive (385) questionnaires out of which a total of three hundred and seventy-five (375) was retrieved and used for analysis in chapter four of this research work. The Ordinary Least Square Regression technique and multicollinearity test was used in the analysis of data. The findings from the analysis revealed that mobile banking and automated teller machine significantly influences the Performance of Nigerian Banks, whereas point of sale, electronic fund transfers and internet banking service was found to have no significant influence on the Performance of Nigerian Banks. The study recommends amongst others that; banks should strengthen the use of ATM as such enhance their performances in the long run; they should also disseminate POS terminals to business outlets so business owners and customers will have access to transactions that are quick and hassle-free; electronic fund transfers should be improved on by reforming the platform and enlightening customers on the benefit of performing transactions through such platforms (EFT); among others.
