ABSTRACT
Every community development initiative as a social development project requires effective communication among various groups of people who are involved in such development project in participation communities. This study evaluates information and communication technology (ICTs) adoption for community development (CD) among extension workers in Edo State, Nigeria. specifically, the study examine socio-economic characteristics of extension work for CD purpose; ascertain respondents access to training on CD through ICTs; ascertain respondents perceived role of ICTs in CD; and identify constraints faced by respondents in use of ICTs for CD. Purposive sampling was used in selecting all public agricultural extension works in NIFOR Nigerian Institute for Oil Palm Research, ADP-Agricultural Development Programme, RRIN-Rubber Research Institute of Nigeria. Data was collected with the use of questionnaire and analyzed using frequency counts, percentage, mean and standard deviation, while hypothesis was tested with Pearson Product Moment Correlation (PPMC).
