INFLUENCE OF SOCIO-CULTURAL FACTORS ON FEMALE TRAFFICKING

ABSTRACT

The study examines the influence of social culture factors on female trafficking in Ovia North East Local Government Area Edo State. Other objectives are to examine the effect of social values and attitude toward work on female trafficking in Ovia North East Local Government Area Edo State, examine the relationship between social classes and female trafficking in Ovia North East Local Government Area Edo State, to ascertain the religious norms effect on female trafficking in Ovia north East Local Government Area Edo State, and to examine effect of businesses and health practices on female trafficking in Ovia North East Local Government area Edo state. Questionnaire was used as the instrument in this study to collect data.. Four hundred (400) copies of questionnaire was administered to resident in Ovia North East Local Government Area, Edo States.Descriptive statistics crosstabulation method was used to test the hypotheses. Data analysis will be done using descriptive statistics, mainly frequencies and percentages. The results are going to be presented in table form. The finding showed that there are causes of female trafficking in Ovia North East Local Government Area Edo State, there are effect of female tracking on the value of women in Ovia North East Local Government Area Edo State, there is a relationship between social classes and female trafficking in Ovia North East Local Government Area Edo State, religious norms have effect on female trafficking in Ovia north East Local Government Area Edo State. The study therefore recommend that Nigeria government should encourage the young people (youth) with the increase in the salary payment and also the private employee. And more job should be created to avoid more people pursuing few which could lead to low payment as no choice for the job seeker. And also the ideal of poor does not have a say should be discourage. Equality should be made know to everybody which could reduce the level of people going into trafficking and all other crime.
