ABSTRACT
The concept of political discourse and civic engagement is that it has a bearing with how citizens, masses and members of the public communicate politically and engage each other in issues concerning their society. This goes to show that it concerns each and every one of us as citizens of a country. Therefore, it is imperative that as good people we know the tenets of political discourse and civic engagement as this will help us know what it takes to practice and live in a healthy political society. A prosperous country is one that knows how to communicate politically with its citizens as wella as the people with their selves. In essence , in the social media era we find ourselves in today, we should use these channels to further boost and foster a healthy political discourse amongst ourselves most especially as students.
