ABSTRACT

The study investigated the influence of sex education on the attitudinal behavior of secondary school students in Ikpoba Okha Local Government Area of Edo State. To achieve the purpose of the study, four research questions were raised and examined. Data was collected from one hundred and twenty (120) respondents randomly selected from six (6) public secondary schools in Ikpoba Okha Local Government Area of Edo State. The questionnaire was the instrument for data collection.

Direct retrieval method was used by the researcher in administering the instrument to the respondents. The questionnaire was administered by the researcher to the respondents.

The findings from the study include that sex education influence students’ attitudinal behavior as it helps students to surmount inferiority problems and helps to clarify misconception students hold regarding sexuality in public secondary schools in Ikpoba Okha Local Government Area of Edo State. It was therefore recommended among others that students should be properly enlightened on the importance of sex education. They should be made to see that sexual related issue are not matters of secrecy but issues that can be discuss with confidence.
