ABSTRACT
The study looked at how pupils' academic performance in public secondary schools in Edo State's Ovia North East Local Government Area was affected by the school environment. Four research topics were posed and investigated in order to fulfill the study's objectives. Two hundred (200) respondents, chosen from five secondary schools in Edo State's Ovia North East Local Government Area, provided the data. The tool used to acquire the data was the questionnaire. For the study, a descriptive survey research approach was chosen. The mean score and standard deviation were used to analyze the data. Results of the study The study's conclusions include the following: a high degree of student academic performance in public secondary schools in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State is influenced by the conducive environment as an aspect of the school environment; a high degree of class size as an aspect of the school environment influences students' academic performance in public secondary schools in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State; a high degree of student academic performance in public secondary schools in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State is influenced by library facilities as an aspect of the school environment; and a high degree of school location as an aspect of the school environment influences students' academic performance in public secondary schools in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State.
