ABSTRACT
The research was carried out to ascertain the influence of principal leadership style on teaching and learning Business Studies in Junior Secondary School in Egor Local Government of Edo State. Five (5) research question guided the conduct of research work. A descriptive survey method was used for this study. The population of the study comprised of 72 teachers both male and female junior secondary school teacher in public schools in Egor Local Government selected through simple random sampling techniques to represent the entire population of Egor Local Government, Edo state. A structured questionaire which was validated by three lecturer in the Department of Vocational and Technical Education in University of Benin was used for data collection. The researcher administered 20 copies of questionaire to Junior Secondary School Teachers in the selected schools in Egor Local Government, Edo State.Based on the research conducted it was concluded that there is no significant difference between principals leadership style and teaching and learning Business Studies of business studies of male and female teachers in Junior Secondary School in Egor Local Government, Edo state. It was recommended that Government should supports school principal towards acquiring appropriate leadership style that will influence and motivate on the teaching and learning of business studies by business studies teachers. It also recommended that private sector should also be made to participate in funding by providing equipments, facilities and instructional materials, grants, awarding of scholarship to business studies teachers for effective teaching and learning development in Egor Local Government of Edo State.
