ABSTRACT
The study investigated the influence of ICT tools for instruction in adult literacy centres in Egor Local Government Area of Edo State. To achieve the purpose of the study, four research questions were raised and examined. The sample size for the study was made up of all the 100 facilitators in the five (5) adult literacy centres in Egor Local Government Area of Edo State. The purposive sampling method was used to draw out the respondents. The questionnaire was the instrument for data collection. The descriptive survey research design was adopted for the study. An analysis of data was done using mean score and standard deviation.
The findings from the study include that there is low level of availability of ICT tools in adult literacy centres in Egor Local Government Area of Edo State. It was concluded that there is a significant impact of ICT tools on effective teaching and learning in adult literacy centres in Egor Local Government Area of Edo State.
The study recommended among others that government should provide comprehensive training programs for facilitators in adult literacy centres on effectively integrating ICT tools into adult literacy instruction. This should include not only technical training but also pedagogical strategies for maximizing the impact of these tools on learning outcomes.
