ABSTRACT
Industrialization stands as a crucial driver of economic growth and development, impacting both urban and rural areas profoundly. This study delves into the intricate dynamics between industrialization and rural development within Oredo Local Government Area (LGA) of Edo Nigeria. Situated in the southern part of the state, Oredo local government area boost a strong agricultural sector, holding promise for development through industrialization. The research aims to provide a comprehensive analysis of how industrialization influences rural development in this region. Through a descriptive survey research design, data were collected from 495 respondents within Oredo local government area using questionnaire. This study contributes empirically to understanding the social economic impact of industrialization in Oredo Local Government. However, further research is suggested to explore industrialization effect in other regions across Nigeria for broader insight. The findings reveals a notable level of industrialization in the area, bring about various social economic benefits for the rural populace. The study conclude that, industrialization positively impact other sector of the economy while presenting challenges such as infrastructural limitations and regulatory constraints. The study therefore recommends continuous monitoring of industrial activities for sustainability, strengthening social welfare programme, and forging partnership between industries and educational institutions. Additionally, investments in critical infrastructural facilities are duplicated.
