This research project investigates the in vitro antidiabetic activity of Ageratum conyzoides ethanol extract. Ageratum conyzoides (A.conyzoides) commonly known as ‘Goat Weed’ or ‘Billy Goat Weed’ is renowned for its traditional medicinal properties in various cultures in West Africa and some parts of Asia and South America. This study explores the in vitro antidiabetic effect of its ethanol extract in the management of diabetes mellitus. The result from α-amylase assay in this study showed that the percentage inhibition of the standard (acarbose) (8.71µg/ml) is higher than the percentage inhibition of the ethanol extract of A.conyzoides (7.18µg/ml). The result obtained from α-glucosidase assay, showed that the percentage inhibition of ethanol extract of A.conyzoides (15.32µg/ml) is higher than the percentage inhibition of the standard (acarbose) (7.18µg/ml). In conclusion, the ethanol extract of A.conyzoides exhibited in vitro antidiabetic activity, making it a valuable natural resource for the development of potential treatment for diabetes mellitus. Such knowledge is vital in the pursuit of alternative, potentially safer treatments for the management of these metabolic disorder
