Abstract
Oliver Feltham’s political philosophy has been described in many academic circles as an attempt to evaluate the works of the contractarians, thereby tracing the history of human social relations on a model of joint action whereby people can act collectively by creating and fostering alliances across several factions of society. Using the method of hermeneutics, this work asserts that unlike Hobbes' theory, this model does not view the plurality and heterogeneity of the people as a threat to stability. Hence, Feltham’s political action is to susceptible to the objections raised against the Hobbesian theory.
