ABSTRACT

The study examined the implication of teaching practices on the productivity of quality teachers in the university of Benin, Benin city Edo state. Five research questions were raised to guide the study.

The design adopted for this study is the survey research design. The sample consisted of 50 respondents from the Department of Educational Foundations, Department of Vocational & Technical Education, Department of Curriculum and Instructional Technology, Department of Health, Safety and Environmental Education, and Department of Educational Evaluation and Counselling Psychology.Questionnaire were used for the collection of data. The research instrument was validated by the researcher’s supervisor. The research instrument was administered by the researcher personally. The data obtained were quantitatively analyzed through descriptive statistics such as frequency, mean and standard deviation.Findings revealed that teaching practice has high influence on the productivity of quality teachers in the university of Benin, Benin city.

Based on the findings, it was recommended that teachers should establish a setting where children feel appreciated and comfortable.

The findings also recommended that teachers should draft comprehensive class plans that include interesting activities and well-defined goals.
