ABSTRACT
This study made findings about the impact of women in the politics of Benin Kingdom. It also discusses the status of women in precolonial Benin politics, the role of women on Political development in Benin Kingdom and presented some historical female figure who have impacted Benin politics in the precolonial period. The Benin Kingdom was a pre-colonial kingdom in what is now southern Nigeria. Its capital was Edo, now known as Benin City in Edo state. It should not be confused with the modern-day Republic of Benin, formerly the Republic of Dahomey.
