ABSTRACT
Housing problem in Nigeria is not only in quantity, but also in quality. Housing quality is more than the definition of a minimum standard. It has two interrelated sets of dimensions namely: physical, material, social and economic constituents of the study area and those perceived meanings, values and the uses of these constituents. This research is aimed at examining the socio-economic quality of housing in Lagos metropolis with focus on Tedi Town, Muwo and Abule-Oshun area in Ojo Local Government Lagos, Nigeria. Research adopted a sample of 198 administered questionnaire randomly distributed in the study area. Data obtained were analyzed descriptively. Field survey was complemented with review of existing literature published and unpublished. The study revealed that housing quality in the study area was mainly influenced by socio economic influences of income, facilities in homes.Strategies for improving socio economic status of housing quality are suggested.
