ABSTRACT
The study investigated the impact of low cost educational materials on student's knowledge and attitude towards waste reduction among University of Benin students. To guide this study, four research questions were raised and they were all answered. The study adopted quasi experimental survey design, 50 respondent were purposively selected from the department of Health, Safety and Environmental Education (HSE), 100level students which was the population of the study. The instruments used in collecting the data was a structured questionnaire designed by the researcher. The data collected were analyzed using simple percentage and frequency counts for descriptive analysis. The study revealed that low cost educational materials has a strong impact on student's knowledge and attitude towards waste reduction in the University of Benin. Thus, schools especially higher education should include the use of low cost educational materials into their curriculum. Environmental education workshops should be organized in order to provide adequate information about waste reduction among students and citizens at large.
