ABSTRACT
This study investigates the influence of information and communication technology utilization in the delivery of adult education programmes in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State. Four (4) research questions were raised to guide the study.
A total of one hundred and twenty (120) participants were selected from three (3) adult education centres in Benin Metropolises. They were selected through proportionate sampling techniques. In this wise, fifty percent (50%) of the population was used as the study’s sample. The major instrument used for this study was the questionnaire. The questionnaire was designed and validated by experts in the Department of Adult and Non-Formal Education , University of Benin. Data were analyzed using descriptive statically techniques such as tables, frequencies counts, and simple percentages.
Findings of the study revealed that the use of ICT in teaching and learning make it fun, helps to store record what the facilitator its teaching, make it easier for adult learners to hear the facilitator and teaching makes learning content to understand. It was further revealed that the types of ICT available for Adult education programme are; interactive video and public address system. It was recommended that Government sure that the right calibers of personnel that are skilled in the use of ICT are involved. It was further recommended that the facilitators need to be constantly trained and retrained on the use of ICT
