Summary

This research was aimed at revealing the impact government regulatory agencies has had on national development. The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Edo State Command, was the focus of this study. It was discovered that NDLEA as a government regulatory agency were in the business of exterminating illicit drug trafficking and consumption in the Nigerian society. The objectives of the research was to first examine how illicit drugs and trafficking has affected national development. This provided an insight into why the establishment of NDLEA became imperative. the second objective was to examine based on the first object how NDLEA has carried out their task of exterminating illicit drug trafficking and consumption in Nigeria.
