SUMMARY

The study focuses on the relationship between high-performance work system and employee creativity in small-scale business based in Benin City, focusing on small scale enterprises such as restaurants, trading business, hotel, guest house along the Ugbowo road axis, in which a total of 120 questionnaires were administered to small scale enterprises and a total of 96 were retrieved and valid for this research. The results of the study was analyzed by SPSS version 22.0 and presented in frequency and percentage counts table. Linear regression was used to test for hypothesis at 0.05 alpha level of significance. The result of the study shows that high performance work system affects employee creativity by 76.0%. The result also reveals that financial reward and training and development both have a positive and statistically significant relationship with employee creativity while performance appraisal and mentoring both have a positive and insignificant relationship with employee creativity.
