ABSTRACT
The study examined the heamatological indices of domesticated guinea fowl (numida melesgris) the heamatoprofile of the captive adult and juvenile guinea fowl were investigated. The objective is to investigate the heamatological indices of domesticated guinea fowl. A total of eight (8) guinea fowl consisting of two (2) adult male’s and two adult females, two juvenile male and two (2) juvenile female were used for the study. The results showed higher values of the heamatological parameters in the adults male over the adults female. The PCV values (37.42a 0.04) differ significantly from the values (33.85b 0.0 8) recorded for the female guinea fowl. The results shows no significant of th(8>0.05) difference in their heamatological values among the juvenile male and female guinea fowl. The results of the adults and juvenile guinea fowl shows significant values (P>0.05) in most of the heamatological values except for (48.75 and mev (121.13 respectively. Also the results of the mean heamotological values of captive local and exotic guinea fowl revealed significant different among ten local over the guinea fowl except for heamoglobin (11.81 HIGV (209.106.90) and MCH 73.7724. Which was significantly higher among the exotic guinea fowl. Generally the study revealed higher level of heamotological monitoring will play a vital role to checkmate incidence of hillms in captives birds.
