ABSTRACT

This final-year project work has served as an exploration of the growth and relevance of Africa arts and culture in the international system. It has also contributed to the existing knowledge of this particular topic. Throughout this journey, it has become increasingly evident that Nigerian arts and culture hold immense value, serving as a testament to the continent's rich cultural heritage and its potential to significantly contribute to global cultural diversity. The increasing global presence of Nigerian arts and culture is a remarkable achievement that cannot be overlooked. From music to literature, film to fashion, Nigeria's creatives have made a resounding impact, captivating audiences worldwide. This growing recognition is not only a testament to the talent and creativity of Nigerian artists but also an acknowledgment of the captivating narratives and unique perspectives they bring to the global creative landscape. Regardless, Nigerian art and culture face several challenges that hinder their growth and development. These challenges include limited funding, lack of infrastructure, copyright infringement, preservation and documentation issues, limited cultural education, negative global perceptions and marketing, infrastructure and logistics obstacles, and socio-economic factors. To overcome these challenges, it is crucial for stakeholders to invest in cultural infrastructure, provide adequate funding and support, strengthen copyright protection, promote cultural education, address negative perceptions, improve infrastructure and logistics, and tackle socio-economic barriers. By addressing these challenges, Nigerian art and culture can flourish and have a stronger impact both locally and internationally.
