Abstract

This aim of this research is to employ geostatistical analysis tool for the prediction of unsampled dredged lines due to inaccessibility using the Global Navigation Satellite System Real Time Kinematic (GNSS RTK) positional data and the computation of the quantity of dredged materials for an oil well and lot preparation surveys at Ovhor field, Delta State, Nigeria. The methods of data acquisition includes bathymetric surveys, the pre-dredge and post-dredged surveys, data from GNSS RTK real time tidal monitoring. The data were analysed by computing the sectional areas and volumes and then find the total sum of the area and the volume. Six ordinary Kriging methods were investigated for predicting un-sampled area for dredger heading. Geostatistical analysis began with histogram checking of normality distribution in ArcGIS for positioning data and no transformation is required because the data were normally distributed. The results of the computed area during dredging after the summation of the six sections was 89,321.31 m 2 while the total volumes computed for dredged materials amounted to 56,630.73 m 3 . The indicator Kriging outperform others kriging methods with the sample size of (3,736).
