ABSTRACT
The inquiry analyzed gender and entrepreneurial development in Nigeria.
The sample for the study comprised 100 participants randomly selected from four communities in Benin City, Edo state. Questionnaires were employed to acquire data from 100 participants. The study tool was corroborated by the researcher's supervisor. Simple percentage tables were used to assess the collected data.
The study revealed a strong correlation between gender and entrepreneurial development and that access to education, finance, government-provided grants and support, the implementation of anti-gender discrimination laws, and the availability of skill acquisition centers were critical in addressing the challenges faced by women due to gender inequality in entrepreneurial endeavors in Nigeria. Based on the results, it was proposed that the government and relevant stakeholders collaborate to establish programs that provide women entrepreneurs with easier access to financial resources, namely microloans, venture capital, and business grants specifically intended for women-owned enterprises.
