ABSTRACT

Ayurveda, the traditional Indian medical system, has a long history of supporting the use of natural remedies to prevent illness and enhance general health. This conventional medicine is well-known for its capacity to treat a wide range of medical conditions by employing a wide variety of herbal remedies. These organic plant products can be used on their own or in conjunction with other herbs; the latter is known as a "polyherbal formulation" and has gained significant attention lately. Hebal medicines are compose of variety of botanicals, and each of these contains a number of chemical compounds that, when combined, may have the desire effect. The purpose of the study was to evaluate the antioxidant potential of n-Haxane Fraction of Poly X, which includes Hibiscus Sabdariffa, Syzygium Aromaticum, Zingiber Officinale, and Cinnamomum Verum, in n-Hexane extract. The study specifically aimed to ascertain whether the plant is a rich source of antioxidants and to explore whether the combined extracts show biological activities, synergistic antioxidant effects, or potential interactions that could boost their respective antioxidant activities. Measurements of ferric reducing power (FRAP), total antioxidant capacity (TAC), 2, 2-diphenylpicrylhydrazyl -1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging, and thiobarbituric acid substance (TBARS) were conducted in vitro. In addition, the bioactive compound present was analyzed using GC-MS and HPLC methods. The FRAP and DPPH assay results obtained demonstrated the studied extract's strong antioxidant capacity.
