SUMMARY
This study examines the activities of Fulani pastoral farmers against local communities in Nigeria as a form of budding terrorism and threat to national security. The study established that the persistent conflict has a negative relationship on national peace and security and it has been on the increase in recent times more especially in 2016 where several people were killed in Enugu and Benue States with several attacks in the South West and prominently, in Ekiti State. From the discussion on this paper, it is obvious that farmer-grazers conflicts in any parts of Nigeria and are centered mainly on cattle owners and crop farmers alone as the attacks are not mainly against crop famers alone but also locals living in the communities. This paper gathered the fact that churches, schools, indigenes who has nothing to do with crop farming are also been killed by the terrorist activities of the Fulani herdsmen causing severe loss of properties, lives and displacement in the country. Today the most serious version of insecurity challenge facing Nigeria is disguised herdsmen terrorism in the robe of farmers-herdsmen conflicts. It is disguised because they claim they are fighting farmers but in reality people who are not famers are also put in a state of fear and also attacked which has produced negative impact in the psychological, social and economic life of the affected people.
